Acoustic foam is a popular and cost-effective way to improve the acoustics of any room. Acoustic foam for soundproofing

Soundproofing is the concept of isolating a room from external sounds and also stopping leakages of sound from the room. Unfortunately, it’s not possible for any material stuck to the inside of a room to achieve this well (the only real way to properly soundproof a room is to build a room within a room). Don’t trust websites claiming to sell foam soundproofing or soundproof foam panels - they don’t exist. This doesn’t mean that acoustic foam panels aren’t useful - on the contrary, they are excellent at 'deadening the sound' of a room by avoiding unwanted echoes and reverberations.
